What is it?
Radio-Frequency identification (RFID) is the use of radio waves to read and capture information stored on a tag attached to an object, a tag can be read from up to several feet away and does not need to be within direct line-of-sight of the reader to be tracked.
Where do I use it?
Well, almost everywhere, examples of everyday use are Bank Cards, Credit Cards, Mobile Phones, Oyster Cards, Car Fobs and passports basically anywhere where you use contactless or non-physical technology to complete a task or transaction
Am I at risk?
Without wishing to alarm, yes, but you can take steps to minimise your exposure, very simple products are available to protect you from exposure, they are lined with a protective layer which stops the frequency from being detected.
